Vicozen....the beginning of the end?

A Canadian company has released a kratom based beverage that sounds suspiciously like a toxic drug......Vicozen. In their promotional material they promise this product will "eliminate stress and pain". It seems that kratom has gone one better than Zen meditation because Zen can eliminate stress but it can not eliminate pain. Buddha now stands corrected when he wrote that life is suffering, he must not have tried this new energy drink!
Seriously, the company that released this is responsible is so many ways. They use precise and professional methods to test and maintain purity of their extracts, they make many clean and safe kratom extracts. They are friendly and a pleasure to deal with. There is one serious problem though. It seems like the love of money has driven normally sensible people to put a VERY unfortunate label onto a product and put it in a form that can easily lead to a demonization of Mitragyna. Even though it is extremely safe I'm sure it will only take one kid getting his/her hands on this and throwing up at the dinner table and kratom will be no more. A parent sees the name Vicozen and becomes terrified not amused at the play on words.
What do you folks think?

Buddha actually said (if we believe the traditions) life *contains* suffering - a tad different from the idea that life IS suffering.

My point is: so what if people (ideally grown ups) want to drink something that helps them feel good?

Like any religion, the (alleged) teachings of the Buddha have been drowned in dogma, superstition, and tradition over the centuries and one side affect of this appears to be the notion that we'd all better just accept the idea of misery and suffering in this life as the absolute norm.

If I really felt their was no hope for joy on this plane I'd just jump off a damn bridge and be done with it.

The choice of name was definitely not well thought out. We can't have something all natural and safe being used to improve someones quality of life, can we? The way things are going, thought, this company is just a drop in the bucket. The feds already have kratom in their sites. They are just waiting for it to get to critical mass. I don't see this as pushing it over since the FDA is going to be all over this one. --- sassman at
